Greg Lyons is the Chief Marketing Officer of PepsiCo Beverages North America (PBNA), leading the strategic marketing, communications, and innovation agenda across PepsiCo’s $28 billion U.S. beverage portfolio. Under Greg’s leadership, this portfolio – which includes iconic brands like Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Gatorade, Starbucks ready-to-drink coffee, LIFEWTR, Lipton, Pure Leaf, and Rockstar Energy – has achieved remarkable growth.
Since stepping into the role of CMO in 2017, Greg has transformed the beverage portfolio by implementing a holistic strategy and innovation framework that ensures future business success for existing brands while accelerating growth in new categories. Recognized as one of Business Insider’s Most Innovative CMOs (2024), Greg has delivered nearly $2B in innovation over the past four years, led brand Pepsi to achieve 22 consecutive quarters of growth, and played a key role in successfully launching STARRY, PBNA’s newest lemon-lime soda.
Greg currently leads more than 800 marketers driving PepsiCo’s marketing transformation and remains passionate about building new capabilities across consumer centricity, creative excellence, and performance marketing.
A 25-year PepsiCo veteran, Greg has held several leadership roles throughout the organization, including overseeing the Mountain Dew and Energy portfolios, serving as the CMO of PepsiCo’s Canadian beverage business, and leading the Marketing department for the Walkers business in the UK and Ireland.
Greg’s influence extends beyond PepsiCo, as he serves on multiple boards, including the Board of Directors for the North American Coffee Partnership (a joint venture with Starbucks and PepsiCo), the Board of Directors for the Association of National Advertisers, and the Board of Directors for The Tropicana Brands Group. Greg also remains active in his community, serving on the Board of Directors for the Ridgefield, CT Boys & Girls Club.
Passionate about mentoring future leaders, Greg is a guest lecturer at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. He holds a BA in Economics from Amherst College and an MBA in Marketing Management and Strategy from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
Residing in Ridgefield, CT, Greg keeps a full house with his wife Beth, his two children Molly and Jack, his stepchildren Crawford and Max, a sweet Bernese Mountain Dog, Ellie, and a pandemic kitten, Moo.
