Calvin Purcell is the Vice President of Community Management for ALSAC, the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. In this role, Calvin is responsible for growing brand affinity for St. Jude by building and strengthening relationships with various audiences through the delivery of engaging, informative social media content and interaction, and the activation of influencer and celebrity partnerships.
Prior to this role, Calvin served for nearly 20 years in a variety of positions of increasing responsibility that were focused on areas such as data analytics, outsourcing vendor negotiation and management, contact center leadership, donor experience, and sales. Calvin launched many key initiatives over the years including six sigma, university contact centers, and social media engagement.
Calvin has a heart for creating, building, and nurturing communities, wherever they assemble. His passion stems from understanding that people need to help people, and engaging communities with the story of St. Jude gives people an outlet to meet that need.
Prior to joining ALSAC Calvin served for more than a decade in progressive technology roles of increasing responsibility with nationwide home health organizations, where he led organization-wide technology initiatives ranging across financial systems, infrastructure development and patient care applications.
Calvin earned a B.S. in Information Technology Management from Christian Brothers University and an MBA from the University of Memphis. He continues to strive in leading within Memphis having been a recent graduate from the 2025 Leadership Memphis Executive program.
A recognized industry leader, Calvin is committed to leveraging marketing as a force for good, inspiring people to join the fight against childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Calvin is a lifelong resident of Memphis and Shelby County and has been married to his exceptional wife for nearly 30 years.
