Josh Hackbarth is currently the Chief Marketing Officer at MGA Entertainment, where he oversees brand management and activation for a dynamic portfolio that includes Bratz, LOL Surprise, and Little Tikes. In this role, he leads the strategic direction and execution of marketing initiatives that bring these beloved brands to life.
Before joining MGA Entertainment, Josh served as the Senior Vice President of Franchise Development at Warner Bros. Discovery. In this capacity, he was instrumental in shaping the long-term content and franchise strategies for iconic properties such as Batman, Superman, Looney Tunes, Scooby-Doo, and Lord of the Rings. His efforts in fan engagement and franchise expansion have left a lasting impact on these timeless brands. Josh also played a key role in championing major initiatives like Bugs Bunny’s 80th anniversary, the launch of Space Jam: A New Legacy, and the Friends 25th Reunion, which resonated with audiences worldwide. In addition to his work in franchise development, Josh spearheaded Warner Bros. Discovery’s ventures into the emerging NFT and Web3 space, guiding the studio’s innovative approach to digital content and fan engagement.
Josh’s career is built on a foundation of diverse experience across entertainment, retail, and technology. He has held leadership positions at DreamWorks Animation, Amazon, GE, and 3M, where he honed his expertise in driving growth and innovation.
Josh holds a bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems from Minnesota State University and an MBA from the University of Minnesota.
