Michael Torres is a proven executive communication professional. He currently serves as the Chief Communications and Marketing Officer for Hevolution Foundation, a global non-profit organization dedicated to catalyzing the shift from lifespan to healthspan with an annual operating budget of up to $1 billion a year to fund research, bring more scientists into the healthspan field, and expand the number of companies in the field addressing age-related diseases. He also serves on Hevolution’s impact investment and science committees, which has allocated over $400 million in grants, partnerships, and investments in early-stage companies in the last two years.
At Hevolution, Michael is building a world-class communication practice enabled by an empowered, results-driven team. In this capacity, he is also overseeing the Global Healthspan Summit, the world’s largest gathering of its kind, which brings together 2,000 thought leaders from diverse sectors such as research, science, policy, pharma, biotech, business, and international non-profit organizations.
At PepsiCo, Michael played a pivotal role in establishing R&D corporate communications. His efforts were instrumental in shaping the global business narrative and restoring confidence among employees, investors, and analysts in R&D investments. As IHG’s Corporate Affairs VP, he formulated the North American communication frameworks that helped bolster IHG’s global standing and 16 hotel brands, including overseeing the company’s $20M Leaders and Investors Conference. At Anheuser-Busch, he innovated Marketing Communications to lead competitors in share of voice and brand equity, introducing an industry-first lifestyle PR practice and social media hub. At Fleishman Hillard, he managed communications for a significant Superfund clean-up, restoring 26 St. Louis sites to public use.
With a proven track record of building strategic communications practices and empowering results-oriented teams to protect and enhance the reputation of companies, Michael’s experience ranges from Global Corporate Communications, Brand PR, Litigation Communications, and Crisis & Issues Management to Strategic Media Relations and Messaging and social media strategy and content that he has demonstrated globally across North & South America, Europe, Asia, and now the Middle East.
